Voices, Part Duh!

voicesVoice #1 and Voice #2 continued last week’s conversation. Please note – I believe that Voice#1 (in bold) is a parent (frustrated and exasperated and slightly sleep deprived) and Voice #2 (in italics) is a teenager (frustrating and exasperating and the source of the sleep deprivation).

“So what do YOU think about the right to bear arms?”

“It depends.”

“On what?”

“Is it summer?”

“WHAT? What difference does that make?”

“Well, is the person tan and toned? Or pale and flabby? Or (gack) old and hairy …eww.”

“Siiiigggh. BARE arms.”

“Yes, hairy like a bear – that’s just gross – especially when they’re old and wearing undershirts and shorts with black socks and sandals.”

“No.”

“That’s what I said – only it was more like nooooooooo!!!!!”

“No, I mean, the right to bare arms, not….”

“It’s not.”

“What?”

“It’s not a right, it’s a privilege, and only young, tan, toned people should have it.”

“Oh my god!!!”

“What?”

“Kids today!”

“No.”

“What?”

“Kids shouldn’t have bare arms either. They’re sticky and slimey and gross.”

(facepalm)“Kids today!” (said it again).

“Today, tomorrow, yesterday….I’m not having kids. I’d rather have a dog.”

Me too.
I just hope it doesn’t start talking to me.
